Kickapoo Hideaway is a private 73-acre property in LaFarge, Wisconsin, featuring a Main Cabin and a separate Bunkhouse that can accommodate up to 10 guests.

The Main Cabin features a bathroom and kitchen and sleeps 4. As an add-on, you can also rent the Bunkhouse and spread 10 guests out over two buildings. The Bunkhouse is furnished with three hand-made Amish bunk beds and a futon – perfect to separate yourself from the kids.

Our property is connected to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve – you can hike, mountain bike, or ride your horse directly onto the Hanson Rock Trail and enjoy over 8,500 acres of wild, rugged beauty of Wisconsin’s Driftless Area of Vernon County.

We are located:

  • 0 feet from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve

  • 4 minutes to Bridge 14 on the Kickapoo River

  • 7 minutes to LaFarge

  • 8 minutes to Rockton Bar, where you can rent your kayaks/canoes from Kickapoo Yacht Club

  • 17 minutes to Wildcat Mountain State Park

  • 18 minutes to Landing #1 on the Kickapoo River in Ontario

  • 18 miles to Viroqua

  • 20 miles to Norwalk, where you can get on the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail and its train tunnels

Rental Options

Rustic cabin interior with wooden ceiling and flooring, stone fireplace, cozy seating, dining table, and kitchenette. Features a bed, bearskin wall decoration, and traditional decor elements.

Main Cabin

$150 (2-night stay minimum)

The main cabin is a 600 sq ft open-concept with a bathroom, kitchen, living room, full-size bed, and full-size futon.

Bunkhouse

$75 (with rental of Main Cabin)

To rent the Bunkhouse, you must first rent the Main Cabin as that building has a bathroom (by code). The bunkhouse does not have running water, but it is only 12 steps from the Main Cabin.

The bunkhouse is an open concept with three full-size Amish-made bunks, a full-size futon, closet, and a furnished enclosed porch with a fireplace and amazing views of the valley.

Lower Lot Day Parking

$10/vehicle per day

We also have a convenient area by our shed off Weister Creek Rd to park your car or horse rig if you just plan to stay for a day. This parcel is flat with ample room to turn around large vehicles.

While this parcel is part of our 73-acre property, renting this spot for the day does NOT give you direct access to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve trails as would renting the cabins on the upper lot. You can, however, gain access to the trails by going north on Weister Creek Rd just ½ mile and cutting in by KVR Campsite P.
